Description
The Lunt LS50FHa is a 50mm front-mount hydrogen-alpha etalon filter with no central obstruction, designed for use on Lunt ED refractors. It converts a compatible telescope into an H-alpha solar instrument during the day, and is easily removable for nighttime use.
The filter provides an estimated bandpass of <0.70 Å (single), and when used as a double-stack addition to an existing system, narrows the bandpass to approximately <0.50 Å for enhanced contrast.
Important: A matching Lunt blocking filter is required for safe viewing (safety requirement). Choose the blocking filter that suits your telescope’s focal length and intended use:
- B600 — up to 540mm focal length (visual)
- B1200 — up to 1080mm focal length (imaging + visual)
- B1800 — up to 1620mm focal length (imaging + visual)
