Description
The Tele Vue Sol-Searcher is a safe, simple sun finder for solar telescopes. Unlike traditional finderscopes, you never look through the Sol-Searcher — you look at it. A small aperture acts as a pinhole, projecting an image of the Sun onto a translucent 1/4″ screen that can be viewed from either side.
Simply move your telescope until the projected Sun image is centred on the screen, and the Sun will be in your eyepiece’s field of view. It’s the safest way to aim a solar telescope without any risk of accidental direct viewing.
Essential for filtered solar telescopes where the narrow field of view makes finding the Sun by shadow alignment alone difficult and time-consuming.
