1.25″ IR Cut Filter

Description

A 1.25-inch IR Cut filter in a low-profile housing designed for astrophotography with color cameras. The filter blocks infrared light above ~700nm that can cause bloated stars, color fringing, and soft focus in your images — problems especially noticeable with refractor telescopes and fast optical systems.

The low-profile cell minimizes the filter’s contribution to your optical train length, making it easier to achieve correct back-focus spacing. Threads into any standard 1.25″ filter wheel, nosepiece, or filter drawer. Essential for DSLR and color CMOS cameras that have had their IR-cut filter removed (modified cameras).
