2″ UV IR-CUT Filter Anti-Halo

Description

A 2-inch UV/IR Cut filter with anti-halo coating, designed specifically for deep-sky and planetary imaging with CMOS and CCD cameras. The filter blocks ultraviolet and infrared wavelengths while the anti-halo coating prevents the bright halos that commonly appear around stars in images taken with narrowband or broadband filters.

Star halos occur when bright starlight reflects between the sensor’s cover glass and the filter surface. The anti-halo multi-layer coating on this filter dramatically reduces these reflections, producing cleaner star profiles. Particularly effective when used alongside narrowband filters in a filter wheel, or as a luminance filter for OSC (one-shot color) cameras. Threads into any standard 2″ filter wheel or adapter.
