2″ UV/IR Cut Filter

Description

A 2-inch UV/IR Cut filter in a low-profile housing for astrophotography with color cameras. Blocks ultraviolet light below ~400nm and infrared light above ~700nm, allowing only the visible spectrum to reach your sensor. This eliminates the bloated stars, color shifts, and soft focus caused by UV and IR wavelengths that your telescope optics cannot focus to the same plane as visible light.

The low-profile cell design minimizes impact on back-focus distance. Threads into any standard 2″ filter wheel, visual back, or filter drawer. Essential for modified DSLR and color CMOS cameras where the factory IR-cut filter has been removed, and highly recommended for fast optical systems (f/4 and below) where chromatic effects are most pronounced.
