Description

Antlia 8-EL UHC Pro Visual Enhanced Filter

The Antlia 8-EL UHC Pro Visual Enhanced filter is a high-performance optical filter designed for visual observation of celestial objects.

This filter is designed to combat moderate light pollution while maintaining excellent color balance, making it ideal for visual observation of emission nebulae, planetary nebulae, and other objects. It selectively enhances key emission lines through its high-transmission design, including:

5% Peak transmission at 671.6nm (SII)

95% Peak transmission at 673.1nm (SII)

95% Peak transmission at 486.1nm (H-beta)

95% Peak transmission at 495.9nm (OIII)

95% Peak transmission at 500.7nm (OIII)

95% Peak transmission at 654.8nm (NII)

95% Peak transmission at 658.3nm (NII)

95% Peak transmission at 656.3nm (H-alpha)

95% Peak transmission at 671.6nm (SII)

95% Peak transmission at 673.1nm (SII)

The combination of high transmission (>95%) and sodium-light suppression allows observers to perceive fine structural details in Planetary nebula, emission nebula targets, even under moderate light pollution.

1. Visual Recommendations

1) Large-Aperture Telescopes: Due to reduced photon capture by the human eye at nightwe recommend using large-aperture telescopes (e.g., 8-inch or larger) to ensure sufficient light throughput. This compensates for the inherent sensitivity drop in low-light conditions while maintaining the filter’s balance between light pollution suppression and target brightness.

2) Visual Enhanced Contrast in Nebulae
