Flagship 102-megapixel cooled monochrome camera with Sony IMX461 medium format sensor (43.9×32.9 mm). The ultimate deep-sky imaging sensor for maximum resolution and detail.
Description
The ZWO ASI461MM Pro is a flagship cooled monochrome camera featuring Sony’s IMX461 back-illuminated CMOS sensor — the same 102-megapixel medium format sensor found in high-end professional cameras. With 3.76 μm pixels across a massive 43.9 x 32.9 mm sensor (11648 x 8742 resolution), this is one of the highest-resolution astronomy cameras available anywhere.

The “Pro” designation means this camera includes regulated TEC cooling (delta -35°C below ambient), virtually eliminating thermal noise during long deep-sky exposures. The monochrome sensor — without a Bayer colour filter array — captures roughly twice the light of an equivalent colour sensor, and allows you to shoot through narrowband filters (H-alpha, OIII, SII) for stunning emission nebula images with maximum signal.

At 102 megapixels, the ASI461MM Pro resolves an extraordinary level of detail. The large sensor covers a wide field of view even at long focal lengths, making it suitable for both widefield mosaics and high-resolution galaxy and nebula portraits. The 3.76 μm pixel pitch provides well-sampled images across a range of telescope focal lengths from 500 mm to 2000 mm+. USB 3.0 connectivity handles the large data files, and 256 MB DDR3 buffer memory ensures smooth, drop-free image transfer.

This is a premium instrument aimed at serious deep-sky imagers and observatories who demand the highest resolution and largest field of view possible from a single camera. If you’re building a top-tier imaging rig and want medium-format coverage with monochrome flexibility, the ASI461MM Pro is in a class of its own.
