Description

The Starizona HyperStar 8 v4 transforms your Celestron 8″ Schmidt-Cassegrain into an ultra-fast f/1.9 astrograph — 25 times faster than the native f/10 focal ratio. It replaces the removable secondary mirror on Fastar-compatible C8 models, placing your imaging camera at the front of the telescope for dramatically shorter exposures and a much wider field of view.

Version 4 features redesigned optics delivering a coma-free, flat field up to 4.1 degrees wide — enough to frame large deep-sky objects like the Orion Nebula or Andromeda Galaxy with generous framing. The system supports sensors up to 28mm diagonal and works with CCD, CMOS, and DSLR cameras. One camera adapter is included; specify your camera model when ordering.

The extreme speed of f/1.9 means deep-sky imaging without autoguiding becomes practical. Short exposures tolerate tracking errors well, and the system works beautifully on alt-azimuth mounts — no equatorial wedge needed for impressive results.

Specifications

Compatibility: Requires a Fastar-compatible Celestron 8″ SCT. Older models without a removable secondary can be upgraded with the HyperStar Conversion Kit for C8 (sold separately).

Note on mount type: GEM mounts can balance the HyperStar by sliding the telescope on the dovetail. Fork-mounted scopes require the included counterweight.
